In this role, the devleoper will be the respondent to several applications, database problems that arise and carr out peridoic maintenance and troubleshooting. Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements. Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases. Prepare documentation and specifications. Handle common database procedures such as upgrad, backup, recovery, migration, etc. Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders. Good verbal communication skills **Required Skills/Experience** Provide the minimum required skills and/or experience the contractor must possess to qualify for this position. These requirements will be transferred to the Score Sheet and candidates without these requirements reflected on their resume will NOT be presented to the manager for consideration. Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise. Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors. Protecting the applications and databases against threats or unauthorized access. Ensuring that the database is adequaely backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss or techinical issues. Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance. Suggesting changes and improvement for database and application upgrades, maintenance or protection. Regulary liaising with IT project managers and databases programmers. Designing databases with both front-end and back end users in mind. Experience with some of the modern relational databases. Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements. Knowledge of best practices when dealing with realtional databases. Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary. Ability to plan resource requirments from high level specifications. Capable of troublshooting common database issues. Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GitLab Familiar with SISS Package. **Preferred/Not Required** Provide any skills/experience that would be helpful for the candidate to possess but not required.
