Primary Responsibilities/Required Skills: Lead a team of talented engineers responsible for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of our API Gateway in the cloud environment. Take ownership of the end-to-end support process, from monitoring and troubleshooting to incident response and resolution, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud-based API management and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and drive strategic initiatives. Serve as a subject matter expert on API Gateway technologies, providing guidance and mentorship to team members and stakeholders. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, and security specialists to implement best practices for API Gateway management and security. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our API Gateway infrastructure. Minimum of 10 years technology management or large program leadership experience. Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with API Gateway services (e.g., AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management). Experience with Docker containers and microservices. Experience with Infrastructure As Code (IAC) technologies such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager or AWS CloudFormation. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are highly desired. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of an Associates degree and 7 years technology or systems management/leadership experience, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years technology or systems management/leadership experience. Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature. Proficiency with project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Complete understanding of the system development life cycle. Excellent problem-solving skills to assist in issue resolution. Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical skills. Excellent decision-making skills. Strong project management skills. Strong presentation skills. Experience encouraging teamwork and serving as role model when leading and directing others. Understand technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Bachelors degree. Minimum of 10 years technology management or large program leadership experience.
