We have an urgent requirement for Technical Field Support Consultant position with our client. Role: Technical Field Support Consultant Location: Albany, New York Duration: 24 Months Job ID: SLG - 19 - 9685 Client: NY State Location: Resource will be traveling statewide approximately 3 days per week. Some overnight stays may be required. An expense budget will be available for travel costs. Expense invoices will be due within 7 days of travel. Remote work will be allowed when not traveling. There may be a need to go into a NYS ITS office occasionally Description Provide technical consulting and operational support services to multiple counties throughout NY State. The technical site field consultant(s) will be responsible for field support related to cabling identification, PC, Server, VoIP Phones, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), and data/network communications equipment installation, relocation and removal. Duties Completion of site survey documentation (site survey workbook, etc.) Document the site environment through photographs Provide rack and/or data closet information leveraging templated documentation. With client guidance and oversight, consultant will assess the current environment and perform a needs analysis to ensure the site has the necessary equipment to function as required. Assist in performing network equipment installation, relocation, and removal. Provide support for onsite equipment, such as Workstations (PCs), Servers, VoIP Phones, Wireless Access Points (WAPs). Identification and installation/deinstallation support for networking and data communications equipment. Provide field support for rack and stack and identification associated to network connectivity. Provide site survey support, basic site survey preparation, cable connectivity, troubleshooting. Provide network assistance, inventory, and asset control oversight. Mandatory Requirements Experience (9+ Years) Requirements High School Diploma/GED with Math, Sciences, Engineering or technical background preferred, but not required. Minimum of four years experience. 48 Months experience installing/troubleshooting PC's, Printers, Servers, Data Communications Equipment, Data cable installation/troubleshooting, and VoIP telephony.
