As a Senior Engineer, you will develop and execute key technology components of the Group Absence Self-Service Portal. Absence Comprehensive Experience (ACE) is one of the key initiatives that will drive the success of the Group Benefits growth strategy. It is one of the largest programs within Guardian today. This is not just a multiyear program to re-platform; it is the future of how we transform as a business: bringing a comprehensive Absence and Disability suite of offerings to Guardian Insurance customers. This role will work directly with solution architects, cross-functional stakeholders and development team members to define, design and deliver the technical solutions that will support the businesss vision, strategy and goals. The role will specifically support the objectives aligned with the ACE Program, implementing absence functionality across multiple workstreams. Must have: Over seven years of development experience in modern Java based technologies such as Spring Boot, Micro services, and Kubernetes, Over seven years of design and development of databases such as Oracle. Must have programming experience with Java, Working experience in Transcend system is preferred. Working experience of development methodology such as Agile. Open mindset for continuous improvement and to align with business initiatives. Requirement: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. 7+ years of professional software development experience Experience with a broad range of technologies including Java 11, Spring Boot, Sprint Cloud, Test Driven Development, Junit, Mockito, OAuth 2 and OIDC. Experience with Restful API and cloud native technologies including microservice architecture and Patterns. Experience with cloud technology including AWS, Docker, ECS/ EKS, Observability tools. Experience with source control and development workflows: Bitbucket, Git, Maven Work with business partners, business analysts, and product owners to design and build products. Proven ability to take leadership role in projects that span multiple teams, ability to deliver on time working in a fast-paced agile environment. Proven track record of developing and supporting large scale business critical systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; solid understanding of coding aesthetics, able to review code, and provide suggestions. Must be comfortable in a fast pace, changing environment. Has strong presentation and collaboration skills and can clearly articulate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation.
