Ahigh degree of independent judgement and creativity is expected. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,ANDABILITIES Mastersdegree in Computer Science or a closely related field and technicalcertification(s) and one year directly related experience; or a Masters degreein Computer Science or a closely related field and two years directly relatedexperience; or a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a closely relatedfield and technical certification(s) and three years directly relatedexperience; or a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a closely relatedfield and four years directly related experience; or an Associates degree inComputer Science or a closely related field and technical certification(s) andsix years directly related experience; or an Associates degree in Computer Scienceor a closely related field and eight years directly related experience; or highSchool degree and technical certification(s) and ten years directly relatedexperience; or a High School degree and twelve years directly relatedexperience. Exceptionalwritten and oral communication skills. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS Functionsas technical consultant or technical project leader for projects to whichassigned. Performstime estimates, and regularly reviews work plans. Translateshigh-level work plans and converts to detailed assignments for team members. Administers,maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring thesecurity and integrity of the organizations databases. Responsiblefor day-to-day security administration of the data systems and data networksincluding systems access administration. Performsall procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets andto protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaceswith user community to understand their security needs and implementsprocedures to accommodate them. Ensuresthat user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintainsecurity. Implementscomplex data models and database designs, data access and table maintenancecodes. Installsdatabase related products. Functionsas a lead technical resource for data warehouse projects and provide trainingand high-level support to the Application Developers and Systems Analysts. Establishesuser requirements, and creates new standards and procedures related to end userand internal interface development. Providesexpert technical support to ensure the overall security and integrity ofelectronic data, data systems, and data networks. Participatesin the design of programs to include policies, standards, guidelines, trainingprograms, and a viable quality assurance process for disaster recovery of theorganizations databases. Participatesin the review of testing and implementation of software, data systems, and datanetworks to ensure that the integrity and security of all electronic data anddata systems are adequately protected. Worksin data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture,metadata, and repository creation. Maintainsdatabase dictionaries, monitors standards and procedures, and integratessystems through database design. Translatesbusiness needs into long-term architecture solutions. Defines,designs, and builds complex dimensional databases. Developsdata warehousing blueprints, evaluates hardware and software platforms, andintegrates systems. Evaluatesreusability of current data for additional analyses. Reviewsobject and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data forbetter management and quicker access. Facilitatesthe preparation of a system-wide resumption plan and ensures that the businessresumption plan adequately addresses the system requirements and establishedtime frames. Coordinatesand establishes disaster recovery programs and business resumption planningacross mainframe and client server platforms. Coordinatesand monitors simulation testing across all platforms. Aidsin investigation, planning, documentation, implementation, and maintenance ofdisaster recovery plans. Maintainsa mastery of technical knowledge in two BCPSS application programs, databases,operating systems, customer data retrieval processes, or network configurations. Participatesin the training programs offered to increase technical, interpersonal andcommunication skills and proficiency related to the project to which assigned. Utilizestact and exercises good judgement in interacting with the general public,school, and central office personnel.
