In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of our PostgreSQL database, ensuring smooth data migration from Oracle to Cloud SQL, and collaborating with development teams to troubleshoot and fix performance-related issues. Responsibilities Highlighted Skill: PostgreSQL Query Performance Tuning: Analyze slow queries, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve database performance. Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve performance issues within the PostgreSQL database. Highlighted Skill: Cloud Migration: Manage the migration of databases from Oracle to Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, ensuring a seamless transition and data integrity. Perform data copy operations from on-premise environments to GCP Cloud SQL. Configure Change Data Capture (CDC) for primary schemas as required. Highlighted Skill: Strong Troubleshooting Skills: Utilize your analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues. Qualifications Required Skills: 6-8 years of experience in PostgreSQL development and administration. Proven experience in query performance tuning and optimization techniques. Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, including tables, views, procedures, functions, packages, indexes, triggers, and materialized views. Demonstrated experience with data migration activities, particularly from Oracle on-premise to PostgreSQL on-premise/cloud. Strong understanding of database security principles. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Good to Have: Experience troubleshooting Cloud environments on Unix/Linux systems.
