| Direct client position Position: IT Lab Analyst Duration: 2+ years Location: Prattville, AL (Onsite from Day 1) Department: Department of Public Health Client: State of Alabama ( Interviews will be conducted via video, possibly followed by 2nd round, in person interviews ) Job Description Responsibilities Provides end user system support for Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Troubleshoots data issues within the LIMS and data exchange messages Assess current LIMS for ability to meet project and user/program requirements Facilitates discussions between program staff and system vendor Makes recommendations for necessary software and workflow enhancements Enacts enhancements approved by program staff and IT Manager Designs computer programs for end users within the public health lab community Develops/modifies simple to complex SQL, computer programs, and operator instructions so that systems operate as defined within the specifications Configuring/updating/maintaining tables, queries, reports, letters, documents, data marts, and other parameters so that systems operate as defined within the specifications Testing computer programs, SQL, configurations, table changes, queries, reports, letters, data marts, and other parameters so that systems application(s) operate substantially error free Analyses file structures, relationships and develop system designs Documentation of all programs Configures hardware and software with the vendor provided guidelines Analyses the data stored in the databases and makes recommendations relating to performance and efficiency of stored data. Database design and data modelling/optimization Programs routes within Rhapsody Electronic Data Interchange engine for parsing. processing, modifying and storing appropriate message data Programs TSQL stored procedures, triggers, and user defined functions Skills Required Knowledge of personal computer hardware and related equipment. Experience with HL7 messages/specifications. Experience with JavaScript . Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public health managers, and disease surveillance staff as well as other public health trading partners. Experience with Oracle SQL: Develop reports and ad hoc queries using SQL. Ability to make good judgments in demanding situations Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work. Ability to manage multiple tasks with ease and efficiency. Skills Preferred HL7, XML Oracle SQL Ability to learn quickly and perform assigned tasks in a professional and timely manner. Rhapsody Integration Engine v.6+ Experience Required Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university. One to two years of experience in systems and programming. Working knowledge of EDI translation software, Integration Engines, JavaScript and Oracle SQL Education Required Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with major course work in computer science, engineering, or closely related field.
