| Looking for a Cloud Engineer with Java experience and some DevOps \\\\ Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Local DL) Only USC and GC Shortcomings: They have interviewed a lot of people and the main issue is that they dont need people that are given compartmentalized or contained tasks. They dont give out tickets and then have someone else do the deployment. The people they have talked to dont know how things run in production, dont know how to deploy and how to troubleshoot. Banking background Skills: Azure and some Java and DevOps. Primary coding language is Java - Need to be able to code. Should also be able to explain how Java behaves. Should understand Cloud DevOps - Willing to grow and learn Public Cloud Engineering team - move the workload into the cloud: engineering, automation, DevOps as well This team stands up Azure resources. For this they use Terraform, so thats nice to have. However, he feels like a good Java programmer will be able to pick up Terraform. The write processes that involves orchestrating service calls across the organization. This is NOT a pure software development role. Its a Cloud Engineer role that needs to understand Java development. Troubleshooting is the main thing that they need to have knowledge and curiosity around it.
