Job Summary The Cloud Security Engineer analyzes infrastructure and software designs and implementations from a security perspective and identifies and resolves potential threats and issues. Security Engineer secures technology assets across all layers of a technology stack (i.e., application, infrastructure, cloud and data tiers). They will perform the appropriate security analysis, identify and implement mitigations for risks identified at each phase of the software development life cycle. They are skilled in programming and have experience in working with a variety of security tools and software. Responsibilities Works with technical leads and teams to ensure security is built into application development work infrastructure and cloud systems Implements industry leading best practices around cyber risk and cloud security. Performs assessments of cloud platforms/environments using industry standard frameworks such as ISO, CSA-CSM and NIST Designs and develops security policies, standards and procedures using Policy-as-Code with tools like Terraform, OPA, GitHub and Packer Constantly looks for better ways of solving security problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo Coach and mentor other team members to maximize the cloud teams potential Engage and influence technical experts as well as senior leadership Must-have technical requirements: Should have at least 5 years experience as a lead Cloud Security architect designing and securing technology assets across application, infrastructure and data tiers. Must have at least 3 years experience working in Azure. Have working knowledge of agile development methodologies (scrum, sprints, KanBan etc.) and tools (Azure DevOps etc.) Should be familiar and knowledgeable about the inner workings of the software development like configuration management, release management, source code repositories and operational considerations like monitoring and other instrumentations. Have at least 2 years hands-on experience with Terraform, Github, OPA and Packer Be a team player and coach, share knowledge and work towards building a trusted, passionate team Be a thinker and not an order taker. Have the courage and ability to think, understand, question before doing. Have the courage to push back and say NO if that is the right thing to do for DTE. Have a continuous improvement mindset and be open to constantly finding better ways of solving security issues.
