The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with various Linux distributions, particularly Ubuntu and Debian, and be adept at building and customizing Linux OS using tools such as Bitbake, Yocto, and Open Embedded. The role requires expertise in security features, real-time kernel customization, OS OTA update technologies, and proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash. Key Responsibilities: Linux Environment Expertise: Navigate and troubleshoot in Linux environments, ensuring robust and efficient operations. OS Building and Customization: Utilize Bitbake, Yocto, and Open Embedded for building and customizing Linux operating systems. Work specifically with ISAR, a tool based on Bitbake and the Yocto Project. Security Features Implementation: Implement and manage security measures such as disk encryption and secure boot to safeguard our systems. Kernel Customization: Customize real-time kernels to optimize performance for our specific needs. Modify the default AMD64-RT kernel in our Debian image as required. OTA Update Management: Develop and implement OS over-the-air (OTA) update solutions using technologies like SW Update and Mender. Scripting: Write and maintain scripts in Python and Bash to support various system operations and automation tasks. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive Linux Experience: Proven expertise with Ubuntu, Debian, and other widely used Linux distributions. The candidate must be proficient in navigating and understanding how Linux environments work. Bitbake/Yocto/Open Embedded Experience : Demonstrated experience in building or customizing Linux OS using these tools. Our systems use ISAR, based on Bitbake and the Yocto Project, requiring specific knowledge of these technologies. Security Knowledge: In-depth understanding of security features and their implementation, including disk encryption and secure boot mechanisms. Real-Time Kernel Experience: Experience in customizing real-time kernels to enhance system performance. Familiarity with modifying default AMD64-RT kernels in Debian images is necessary. OTA Update Technologies: Hands-on experience with OS OTA update technologies such as SW Update and Mender, crucial for building robust OTA update solutions. Scripting Proficiency: Fluent in Python and Bash, the primary languages used in Bitbake and other related tools, essential for automation and system management tasks.
