Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Collaborate with business analysts and users to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of COBOL applications. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for COBOL-based systems. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Maintain and update existing COBOL programs to ensure compatibility with changing business needs and technology standards. Assist in the migration of legacy systems to modern platforms as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in COBOL programming, including development, maintenance, and support of COBOL applications. Strong knowledge of mainframe environments, including JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2. Experience with system analysis, design, and testing methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a government or transportation sector. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
