| Rate : $50/hr on C2C Job Title: AS400 Developer / Admin Location: Remote Job Description: We are seeking a skilled AS400 Developer / Admin to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting applications and databases on the AS400 platform. This role requires a deep understanding of AS400 system administration, RPG programming, and database management. Responsibilities: System Administration: Manage and maintain AS400 system hardware, software, and peripherals. Perform system backups, recoveries, and disaster recovery planning. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system operations. Apply software updates, patches, and fixes. Ensure system security and compliance with company policies and regulations. Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, CL, and SQL. Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Perform unit testing and debugging of applications. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications. Database Management: Design and maintain AS400 databases, including data modeling and schema design. Perform data migration, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks. Optimize database performance and query efficiency. Ensure data integrity and consistency. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and applications. Train end-users and junior team members on AS400 systems and applications. Develop and deliver training materials and user manuals. Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience as an AS400 Developer/Admin or similar role. Extensive knowledge of AS400 system architecture, operations, and administration. Proficiency in RPG, CL, and SQL programming languages. Experience with AS400 database design and management. Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
