Position Overview:

The World Bank Groups Treasury Information Technology group seeks a Front Office Business Analyst to focus on modernizing its trading platform across the Capital Markets and Asset Management business lines. The position requires a quality-focused and detail-oriented Business Analyst with a demonstrated track record of providing solutions for high-priority business goals and strategic management decisions. The incumbent should be a skilled troubleshooter and problem solver with the ability to translate business processes and problem statements into requirements. The incumbent must be conversant with all stages of the SDLC including agile methodologies and be able to deliver results within tight timelines.

Essential Job Functions:

Analyze business processes to identify business and functional requirements for systems implementations across Capital Markets (bond issuance/buyback, liquidity management, loan hedging) and Asset Management (bond, swap, FX, ABS, MBS) Front Office and trading functions.

Understand business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of information systems solutions.

Work closely with process owners and key application-users to capture detailed, unambiguous business requirements through agile activities, including user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, product backlog grooming, and identifying key dependencies and risks.

Build stakeholder consensus and ensure everyone is on the same page, in agreement, and can visualize the solution being proposed.

Liaise with business users to design and execute test plans and test cases for application development and implementation projects, including unit testing, system testing, SIT, and QA testing. Manage testing, and track defects, enhancements, and questions through the end of UAT and into Production deployment.

Develop and agree on test scripts (steps and expected results) with business SMEs (subject matter experts).

Collaborate with other business analysts and development teams to capture system requirements across different stages of the trade life cycle driving the design of quality implementations.

Collaborate with IT professionals to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new solutions are feasible to meet business requirements.

Drive the adoption of best practices to support the use of standardized processes, systems, and solutions.

Collaborate with the overall Program/Project Manager on project execution and provide timely status of deliverables.

Strong work ethic with focus on meeting deadlines, objectives, and ability to learn new products and systems in a timely manner.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Masters degree with 5+ years of work experience in the investment management industry, or

Bachelors degree with 8+ years of work experience in the investment management industry.

Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Systems degrees will be given preference.

Role Specific Experience and Abilities

Experience in capital markets and asset management as a Business Analyst with experience relating to Front, Middle Office and/or Back Office system implementations or equivalent operational experience for a major financial institution.

Knowledge of financial products such as Bonds (PV and Structured), MBS, ABS, Repos/Reverse Repos, Futures, Options, Forwards, Swaptions, FX, and similar products including understanding of trade life cycle events from an investment and capital markets perspective.

Knowledge of different message types and a thorough understanding of settlement lifecycle.

Experience with SWIFT, FIS is an advantage.

Knowledge of ISO20022 Swift Standards.

Extensive experience with implementing or working in systems like Summit or Murex.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with users and team members.

Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

Strong experience with various system development lifecycle methodologies and tailoring the artifacts to those methodologies.

Strong skills working with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, and MS Visio.

Familiarity with the settlement and accounting process associated with the above financial products.
