Data Business Analyst 6 Month C2C Remote USC w/ LinkedIn JOB SUMMARY The Data Business Analyst has experience in data analysis, warehousing, and reporting. The analyst is responsible for gathering, identifying, documenting, and maintaining business and functional requirements as it relates to the organizational needs for data management. The analyst is as a liaison between the business units and business intelligence developers to understand, analyze and document requirements for business intelligence solutions including reports, visualizations, data warehouse and the multi-dimensional cube. The analyst will also test and validate the solutions to ensure quality and customer expectations are met. The ideal candidate will be adept at understanding core business needs and able to propose effective data solutions to solve everyday business challenges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions Develops and maintains knowledge of the business needs as it relates to data. Elicits and documents requirements from stakeholders, product owners and developers for reports, dashboards, metrices, and KPIs. Performs data analysis, data mapping, process flow analysis and design, assists with data and report testing and issue identification. Tests enhancements and fixes to ensure they meet the requirements or corrected issues. Assures integrity between data warehouse, data lake, and other systems as business rules change. Validates accuracy of transactions between integrated systems. Creates source to data warehouse mapping specifications, data models, and data flow diagrams for use by data development resources. Builds user stories with acceptance criteria for team backlog refinement and prioritization. Awareness of Agile and SCRUM methodologies that are utilized by the organization to bring projects to fruition. General Functions Participates in the development and implementation of reporting that improves efficiency and enhances productivity. Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrates respect for others. Constantly examines, develops, maintains, and updates teams supporting documentation, standards, and guidelines. Ensures team adheres to industry standards and actively utilizes best practices. Possesses strong organizational and analytical skills including the ability to understand financial systems and workflows. Provides clear and concise business update reports to management. Cognizant of emerging technologies, operate dynamically, propose effective data solutions and technologies into the BI solutions, where appropriate. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in business, operations, computer science, data analytics or a related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3-5 plus years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Beginner to mid-level SQL certification, and Microsoft Data Analyst Associate certification in Power BI or a related certification would be beneficial but not required.
