This is a critical role requiring a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with Progress Database OpenEdge versions 11.x and 12.x. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database administration, performance tuning, and security best practices. Responsibilities: Database Administration: Manage and maintain Progress OpenEdge databases in a complex production environment. Perform database installations, upgrades, backups, restores, and recovery operations. Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to improve query response times and system efficiency. Database Design: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas, indexes, and partitions. Security: Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including user management, access controls, encryption, and data protection. Migration: Lead database migration projects from OpenEdge 11.x to 12.x, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot database-related issues, provide technical support to end-users, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Required Skills: Progress OpenEdge Expertise: Proven experience with Progress Database OpenEdge 11.x and 12.x, including database administration, performance tuning, and security. Database Performance Tuning: Demonstrated ability to optimize database performance through index creation, query tuning, and other techniques. Database Security: Strong understanding of database security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and auditing. Migration Experience: Proven track record of successful database migration projects. Technical Design: Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective database designs. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database issues. Desired Skills: Experience with OpenEdge App Server (OEAS) and PASOE.
