Job Title Applications Systems Engineer Location Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid) (Local) Duration of project 6 months+ Required visa Any visa (Except and CPT) Mode of Interview Video Job Description: This resource will engage in assessments on performance and functionality for troubleshooting and creating enhancements on existing applications. This also applies towards developing new software/application solutions to meet business needs. The resource will act as an in-house technical lead for consulting on application projects including working with vendors and stakeholders to understand and translate requirements for solution designs and implementation plans. This resource will also develop internal applications to support modernization of IT Systems and Operations for Law Enforcement. In addition, they will be collaborating with Law Enforcement Platform Engineering team to optimize Server/VM, Web, and Database components in application stacks. Responsibilities: Evaluating applications for best-practice implementations, including functionality and integration Developing software/application solutions to meet business and operations needs Collecting application and/or reporting requirements for solutions design Managing and troubleshooting performance issues and resolving server/OS-related application issues Documenting solutions using application development cycle methodologies, diagrams, and application models Performing application/software code reviews for improvements, enhancements, and optimization Reviewing security controls in applications and corresponding infrastructure for IT security compliance Designing, developing, and managing front-end and back-end application components including user interfaces and database integrations Analyzing application datasets to formulate reports and reporting templates Providing input/feedback with technical subject matter expertise on application projects Maintaining server components in application stacks Required Skills/experience: Strong development skills in .Net, C++, Python, Java, XML, JSON and GO Working foundation on front-end design protocols including PHP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and GO Strong web development skills with platforms such as Microsoft IIS, Visual Studio, Apache, NGINX, Node.JS, and Django Strong comprehension with SQL platforms including MS SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL Designing, creating and supporting reports using SQL Server Reporting Services Designing and supporting ETL and ELT processing using SQL Server Integration Services Managing and configuring desktop and server operating systems: Windows 10 and 11 Windows Server 2016 and above Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or similar distributions) Administering system changes/modifications within operating systems Understanding and implementing security at the Network, Application, Server, and Database level Firm development skills in in scripting technologies for process automation or service optimization VB Script, Power, BASH, Python, or similar Strong soft and organizational skills in areas including teamwork, managing priorities, time management, task tracking, establishing effective relationships, communicating complex Ideas to non-technical people, and good oral and writing communication Working knowledge on server infrastructure virtualization is a strong plus Working knowledge on app deployments in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments is a plus Working knowledge on Mainframe systems and COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM languages is a strong plus Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite of applications Highly Desired/Preferred: Strong development skills in .Net, C++, Python, Java, XML, JSON, and GO Strong web development skills with platforms such as Microsoft IIS, Visual Studio, Apache, NGINX, Node.JS, and Django Strong comprehension with SQL platforms including MS SQL Server, MySql, Oracle, and PostgreSQL Working knowledge on server infrastructure virtualization is a strong plus Working knowledge on app deployments in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments is a plus Working knowledge on Mainframe systems and COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM languages is a strong plus Thanks & Regard Shubhra Soni Technical Recruiter| Sonitalent Corp.
