Feedback below on two candidates we had interview that didn't pass. This manager is eager to hire! Unfortunately, Davids technical skill sets is not a good fit requiring in depth knowledge (up to five years) of PostgreSQL Database Administration and 3 years of Python AWS Boto 3 SDK/bash shell scripting skill sets with DEV OPS background. Davids CV profile has technical skill sets as PySpark ETL Data engineer instead of heavy experience as AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL Database Administrator. Based my teams post interview feedback, Charans technical skill sets is not a good fit requiring in depth knowledge (up to five years) of PostgreSQL Database Administration with PROD/QA/DEV DEVOPS RDS PG Database Instance Infrastructure as Code deployments.Im still looking for other candidates which is heavier on Production/QA/DEV Lifecycle for supporting RDS PG DBA role requirements instead of the PySpark(Python) ETL Data engineering pipeline Developer skill sets. Interview Steps: - Glider first. 85% or higher ideally to submit to the manager. Questions will be related to PostgreSQL DBA questions, Multiple choice with Python coding questions as well. Two rounds after that, could do back to back interview or split it up. 1 and a half hours on both of those interviews Position Description Successful candidate will join an agile team that enhances, maintains, and supports CRISP and DASL, two Postgres-centric enterprise data platforms that are critical to FINRA. They will serve as a Postgres and Python expert. All members of the team provide production support; this will occasionally require work during off hours (weekends and nights.) Requirements: Five or more years of experience in Amazon Web Services RDS Postgres or Aurora Postgres. Experience should include development, maintenance, monitoring, and tuning. Any additional experience with AWS services such as AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Elastic Container Service, Lambda, Fargate, EC2 or S3 is also desirable. Python development expertise and professional experience is required, including experience with boto3. Experience with all phases of the SDLC software development life cycle from analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance and production support with timely delivery against deadlines. Proficient in using Unix shell Scripting, SFTP. Created Shell Scripts for invoking python/SQL scripts. Experience with implementing Jenkins Job pipelines. Experience using git for version control. Familiar with and able to use Scrum principles in an enterprise environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, and a highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently. This position is on a central data platform teamthe ability to work effectively with our partner teams is essential. His last day is next Friday. -Sergio Bruno is the manager -AWS, RDS Auroa, Python and SDK with Boto3 for maintenance and deployments -Ideally the manager wants someone in the north east region. NYC, NJ, MD, VA. Flexible for remote anywhere else, but they need to travel to Rockville office for events a few times a year - Must have 5 years of PostgreSQL and at least 2-3 years in Python. Heavier emphasis on PostgreSQL -AWS with core services are a must -Might be some support work on a rotation basis 1-2 times a month on a Saturday for 3-4 hours on a Saturday morning -DBA with good scripting skills and Bash and Python scripts. Overall Python coding will be required -Spark is a plus, but not a must have. -Great experience with DMS services would be a big plus. Manager mentioned this multiple times on the call. A lot of the job will be dealing with DMS services - Toughest part of this job is finding someone with the support experience, plus the overall experience with PostgreSQL - Candidate will be supporting CRISP and DASL, two Postgres-centric enterprise data platforms that are critical to FINRA.
