Must have : Big Data, AWS hands on, Data modeling Job Description: In this role, you will define, design, and build scalable data platforms that support our organization's data needs. The Data Platform Architect will be responsible for developing robust data architecture, overseeing database management and optimization, and ensuring the security , reliability, and performance of our data solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of database technologies, cloud platforms, data integration techniques, and best practices in data management. Duties and responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement a highly scalable and secure data platform architecture that can handle data at scale. Help select, evaluate, evolve and integrate data platform technologies, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and big data processing tools. Collaborate with all stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical requirements, design and solutions. Define the security and lifecycle guardrails for all components of the Data Platform. Develop, evolve and maintain data governance tools, policies and procedures. Help define and implement data security, quality, and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. Automate data pipelines and workflows for efficient data movement and transformation. Monitor and optimize the performance of the data platform components. Lead and mentor junior team members. Develop and communicate the various architecture viewpoints (Application, information,) of the future state architecture for the Functional Domain. Guide solution decisions for the functional domain. Guide the solution architects of the domain, and performs the required solution architecture reviews, following the governance defined by Enterprise Architecture. Incorporate digital and data technology directions into solution architecture design. Develop road maps describing the evolution for the functional Domain of all enterprise solution portfolios from current state to future state. Assure that the key solutions of the domain (Enterprise Standard) have a documented architecture (Architecture handbook) stored in a common repository serviced by Architecture Governance. Collaborate with the business and domain architects to define a specific solution based on architecture standards & requirements. Seek opportunities to improve the end-to-end process for architecture design. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, software developers, and business analysts to integrate data-driven solutions into business processes and applications. Leverage architecture standards, architecture patterns, reference architectures, and other referential means in order to elaborate the most adequate solution architecture meeting functional and non-functional requirements. Take accountability to ensure alignment with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within solution architecture for Pharma domain scope. Define data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). interpret and contextualize business strategy for operational needs. Develop artifacts such as business capability maps and value streams to bridge the gap between strategy and execution. Perform performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning for database systems and data platforms. Provide technical leadership and guidance on data architecture best practices and emerging technologies. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data management, cloud computing, and big data technologies. Qualifications: 7+ years of demonstrable experience performing architecture design, end to end solution delivery, implementing IT process improvement as a Data Architect, Database Administrator, or similar role designing and implementing data platforms. Expertise in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Strong understanding of data ingestion, processing and integration techniques (e.g., ETL, ELT) and data warehousing concepts. Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio) and proficiency in SQL and scripting languages. Hands-on with some of the tech stacks from not limited to NiFi, Apache Spark and Airflow, HIVE, HDFS, API Integration, Schema Registry, NiFi Registry, Bitbucket, S3, RDS, RedShift, Python, PySpark, Scala Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS). Familiarity with applications used in the pharma domain like MES, LES, ERP, etc. is plus Excellent communication and leadership skills. Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in business or technology architecture are preferred. Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) is a plus.
