VMWare Admin Client: Gwinnett County - Information Technology Job ID: #93 Location: Lawrenceville Duration: 1+ years Interview: Webcam Job Description Position Description: We are looking for an experienced VMwareAdministrator with core knowledge of VMware 7.0 or higher using Virtual Centerfor administration and advanced vDS knowledge. The ideal candidate should beable to demonstrate technical experience with daily activities in the field ofServer Hardware and Networking. Candidates should be well versed in Planning,Implementation, Administration and troubleshooting issues involved withplatforms across a variety of OS servers including Microsoft Windows and RedHat. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree is desired but notrequired. VMware Certified Professional and MCP are desiredbut not required. Support large scale VMware Environment. Support of large vDS multi-site Data Centers. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience working withVMware production environment. Ideally 2+ years of supporting/configuring vDS ina production environment. Previous experience managing, setting up, andadministration of storage/VMware clusters. Experience with Enterprise backup solutions,Commvault experience a plus. Responsibilities: Administer, monitor, and manage large-scaleproduction environments. Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphereenvironment: vCenter, App-V, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), virtual machines,datastore creation and maintenance. Configure vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS),VMware Distributed Resource Scheduling, High availability, and FaultTolerance. Implement automated procedures for deployments ofservices, configuration, infrastructure. Work with engineering teams to design andimplement application operational procedures and processes on existing and newdata center environments/projects. Support migration from legacy VM Environments tomodern VM architecture standards. Repair and perform preventative maintenance onsystems, including major patches and updates, resolve vulnerabilities andmonitor for EOL of products. Maintain records and prepare reports. Provide advance troubleshooting support andproblem resolution of the entire Virtualization Infrastructure with various OSplatforms such as Microsoft 2016, 2019, 2022 & Linux (Red Hat andOracle). Ensure ongoing operation of systems/applicationsthrough troubleshooting, scheduling/monitoring jobs and technology-relatedbusiness processes, and end user support as needed. Understanding of Storage Architecture, SANenvironment and Health-performanceoptimization monitoring of virtualizedarchitecture. Understanding of security best practices formulti-tiered operating systems. Expert understanding of networking concepts,(i.e., Configuration of network layer-2, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing in LAN/WAN,Ethernet Port, Patch Panel virtual networking, HCIHyperconverged Infrastructureand SDI-Software Defined Infrastructure. Troubleshooting and resolving LAN/WAN performanceconnectivity and related network problems. Technical written and verbal communication skills(technical writing) are a plus. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.Willingness to learn and take on new projects. Good customer service skills. Performs other duties of a similar nature orlevel.
