This is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension. This Hybrid role has multiple locations: Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, or New York, NY. Job Summary/Responsibilities: Design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications, document and test systems, modify as appropriate. Provide technical and project leadership and mentoring (for a few senior persons). Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team. Build performance-sensitive systems that serve tens of millions of requests each day. Required Skills/Experience/Education: Strong Ruby on Rails experience. Know how to write highly scalable and distributed Ruby on Rails services. Knowledge/experience with GitHub. Experience with APIs. Experience developing mid-tier services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Experience working with Postgres and other relational databases. Someone comfortable using Agile development methods. Experience with Linux and VIM. Knowledge of JavaScript and other front-end technologies (Preferred). Great communication skills.
