SOFTWARE: NATURAL 4.25 (4GL language), Discoverer, JCL, FTP and Entire Connection DATABASE: ADABAS 8.14 and ORACLE 11g Requirements Description: Provide support to VMIS administrators and field users in Bus Operations with daily issues including: Scheduled Bus Inspection Work Orders Automated Fluid downloads. Incidents uploads Defect uploads System/Subsystems setup for new bus fleets Systems Table setup Security Design and develop new data interfaces for flat file data feeds. Maintain the existing VMIS data mart on the network. Gain understanding of existing VMIS system and technical environment. Document functionality of new development/enhancements. Produce adhoc reporting as per user request. Provide 24X7 on call production support. Skill Level: ADABAS/Natural Required 10 years Oracle Required 5 years TSO Required 10 years Project Description: The Vehicle Maintenance Information System is a multi-purpose dynamic system utilized as the corporations maintenance reporting system to track performance of approximately 2550 vehicles in operating service. The system is a real-time, on-line, interactive product, which was developed in-house. It currently serves 16 garage locations on a 24/7 basis with over 800 users. VMIS provides information to various staff department, i.e. Maintenance Support, Finance, Risk Management, Safety and Materials Management departments; VMIS data is downloaded to various departments for analytical purposes, i.e. Bus Operations, System Development and analysis department for report generation. The system is driven by series of system tables, which directs the logical distribution of data information and is supported by multiple feeders to system, which includes the following: Work Control: The Work Control module is utilized by shop foreman, to control work to be done, work completed and employee work assignments. FleetWatch - Fluids Management system: System allows for automatic capture of vehicle number, mileage, fluids dispensed to individual vehicles at nightly servicing operations at 16 locations. Scheduled Events: The VMIS system has a Schedule Event module, which generates standard inspection data for scheduling of events, i.e. Minor, Major, DOT inspections and Bus cleaning, all of which are based on mileage or time intervals, i.e. Cleaning 30 day, DOT 6 months. CAD for Road Incidents: The CAD/Radio system is utilized to capture Incidents/Accidents data real-time and interfaces with VMIS to alert garages to the occurrence of adverse activities to bus operations. The Incident module of VMIS tracks and reports mechanical breakdowns of vehicles and generates work orders for each garage locations. Defect Tracking : Each garage has a electronic Scantron Scanners located at the depot office/Maintenance office which allows for bus driver bus condition form to be scanned and directly inputted to the VMIS system and allows for generation of work orders to repair driver identified mechanical defects. Campaign module: The Campaign module allows for generation of fleet wide vehicle preparation work, which immediately generates work order activities at each garage location. Quality Assurance: The quality assurance department actively investigates repair work performed at garage locations and the VMIS system provides for data capture of Q.A. Quality Assurance findings/defects and generates work orders activities for affected garages to take corrective action. Bus Inspection: The Bus Inspection module is utilized by mechanics to record electronically findings during Major Minor and DOT inspections. Component Tracking: The Component Tracking module identifies key components replacement by date and mileage installed. It has also a feature for tracking of serialized component. Vehicle Information: The vehicle information module individual records for each operating bus at NJT. The module contains specific technical information such as VIN Number, Date Assigned, Location Assigned, Initial Mileage, LTD mileage, Vehicle purchase cost and information of vehicle dimension and special accessory features of the vehicle. System Tables: The VMIS System is built around a series of system table which directs the movement of data and other descriptive information. Security: The Security module is built on a hierarchical basis which allows for specific feature of VMIS to become available dependent on individual group assignments. Work History: The Work History module is utilized to review work completed by system, work completed by bus and work completed by employee.
