Title: Android Quality Engineer Location: Cincinnati, OH (In-office from day 1; relocation accepted) Length: 6 months to start, with potential renewal for an additional 12 months Visa: Any Need managerial references with LinkedIn, email and number Position Overview The Android Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of Android applications through comprehensive testing and automation. This role involves reviewing project artifacts, authoring and executing test cases/scripts, and leveraging technical expertise to enhance code quality and test coverage. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile application testing, particularly within an Agile/Scrum environment, and possess strong skills in test automation and performance testing. Key Responsibilities Test Execution & Documentation: Develop and execute detailed test cases/scripts for both project and support-related activities. Provide feedback on requirements and analysis artifacts. Automation Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automation tests using tools such as Selenium, Appium, and related technologies. Enhance test coverage and application quality through automated testing. Risk-Based Testing: Apply risk-based testing techniques to prioritize and address potential risks in the application. Collaboration: Work closely with development and project teams to understand requirements, address defects, and improve application code quality. Test Environment Management: Manage test environments and test data, ensuring they are correctly configured and maintained. Defect Tracking: Utilize tools such as Jira and Quality Center/ALM for defect tracking, root cause analysis, and test case management. Minimum Position Qualifications Experience: 7+ years of QA experience with 3+ years specifically in mobile application testing. Agile/Scrum: Proficient in QA processes and deliverables within an Agile/Scrum environment. Tools & Technologies: o Defect Tracking: Jira, Rally (3+ years) o Automation Testing: Selenium (with Java or JavaScript), Appium (3+ years) o Test Runners: Junit, TestNG, Mocha, Jasmine (3+ years) o CI Tools: Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab (3+ years) o Selenium Grid: 1+ years o Test Case Management: Quality Center/ALM (2+ years) o Database Validation: SQL (2+ years) Skills: Strong understanding of automation and performance testing, risk-based testing techniques, and test environment/data management. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preference: Selenium experience in current/most recent project and the ability to develop and maintain functional automation test scripts using modular frameworks and best practices. Desired Attributes Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge in test automation frameworks and methodologies. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on improving test coverage and application quality. Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical issues clearly. Additional Information Location: Must be able to work in-office in Cincinnati, OH from day 1. Relocation is accepted.
