| From: Mounika, Intelligenz [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] ROLE : Electrical Validation Engineer x2 Mossville, IL Building AC Hybrid 1-2 days remote per week VISA: ANY VISA Electrical Validation Engineer x2 This team is Purchased Finished Power Electronics a component development team responsible for developing components CAT needs to electrify their machines. These are inverters and DC to DC converters. These are purchased finished components from suppliers. They are a part of the Electrification and Energy Solutions division, a newly formed division within CAT to speed up electrification initiatives. This group is centralized and serves all machine groups as internal clients. They perform supplier evaluations to select the best components that satisfy requirements of internal customers. They work with system level teams, integration teams, controls teams, etc. to establish requirements. After the component is selected, they take it through the new technology or new product introduction process. This role will support those processes. APQP, DFMEA activities. Design reviews, print releasing, packaging, build and deliver support, systems integration, etc. No hands-on design or testing work, but some occasional observing of testing. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Work with machine systems teams to establish converter requirements for e-powertrain Perform analysis and evaluation needed to select best supplier option. Collaborate with suppliers and systems teams to develop production components from requirements definition to validation completion. Support NTI & NPI programs: communication with NTI/NPI leads; prepare and present design and gateway reviews Collaboration with CAT China team for electrical design, verification & validation plans, functional evaluation. Play an active role in supplier evaluation, selection and development some limited travel will be required Execute and support electrical commissioning and testing on purchased components Support APQP activities on purchased components in collaboration with suppliers Document and resolve field issues Procurement, inventory management, and shipment of components Stay up to date with the latest advances and market trends in e-powertrain DC converters and inverters Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree Masters degree with 4 years experience Minimum 6 years of experience in product development Strong communication and collaboration skills Previous product development experience (design / analysis / validation) Power Electronics design and development experience Basic understanding of e-powertrain (electric drive) system and components Desired Qualifications: Experience with electric drive systems and/or components. Hands-on experience with power electronics converters development Strong communication skills especially with suppliers or business partners Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex assignments Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP & PPAP Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) process Excellent analytical skills Experience in power electronics component testing and validation.
