Job Duties and Responsibilities: -

Responsibilities:

1.

Provide Operational support for Linux/Virtualisation (Vmware)

2.

Ensure our services meet stability, performance and availability requirements.

3.

Develop and maintain performant, scalable and maintainable software solutions and tools for internal use.

4.

Perform proactive troubleshooting & performance analysis of internal services and cloud environments.

5.

Build robust, self-healing features and automation that reduce operational effort and improve service up-time.

6.

Deploy and maintain of production cloud environments that requires 24/7 accessibility.

7.

Participate in programs to deploy pre-GA products/codes in production and provide direct feedback to product development teams.

8.

Interact with other product & development teams, gather requirements & perform analysis to determine appropriate solutions.

9.

Actively engage in design reviews, code reviews and operational reviews.

10.

On-call responsibilities (including weekends) on rotation basis

Qualifications:

1.

Bachelors or masters Degree preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics or equivalent work experience

2.

Minimum 6 years of experience with scripting and automation.

3.

Willingness to use different programming languages and frameworks to address the specific product needs (Python, Ruby, PowerCLI,

4.

Batch Scripting, etc).

5.

Proficient in Linux/Unix operating systems

6.

Very good understanding in network basics - routing & switching, TCP/IP concepts, common protocols like DHCP and DNS, network

7.

analysis with tools like Wireshark.

8.

Hands on experience with VMware vSphere.

9.

Knowledge of filesystems, quotas, data storage protocols including NFS, CIFS, FC and iSCSI.

10.

Experience with configuration management tools,

at least one of the following:

Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt

11.

Systematic problem-solving approach

Strong pluses:

1.

Working experience with vCloud Suite (vSphere + NSX, vSAN, vRealize suite) and vCD.

2.

Experience with containers and container orchestrators - Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos

3.

Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, mySQL), NoSQL or time-series databases

4.

Experience with message brokers, stream processing, data transformation and analytics.

5.

Knowledge in CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins

6.

Knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT processes and ITIL

7.

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher (VCAP, VCDX)

8.

Advanced Degree or Relevant Technology Certificates (VMware, Cisco, Juniper, Linux and EMC)

9.

Experience with
Cisco Nexus Series switches.--
