Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Modeler to join our team. The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing and creating data models to support the business needs, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing data structures. This role requires a deep understanding of data modeling principles, database design, and the ability to work closely with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data models. Key Responsibilities: Data Model Design: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for new and existing systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards. Data Analysis: Analyze source systems, data flows, and business processes to identify data requirements and define data models that support reporting and analytics. Database Design: Design and implement database schemas, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures, to optimize performance and maintain data integrity. Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and developers to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications. Data Integration: Develop data integration strategies, including ETL processes, to ensure data consistency and quality across systems. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and metadata. Data Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards, promoting best practices for data management and usage. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and data management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect), SQL, and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL). Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data requirements and translate them into effective data models. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: Data modeling or database management certifications (e.g., CDMP, Oracle Certified Professional).
