Position : Lead GCP Engineer Location : Pheonix, AZ . Onsite 3x a week (Tues-Thurs) Duration : 6+ months Mode of interview : Video Job description : REQUIRED SKILLS NOTES: Wants to see top candidates with excellent Terraform exp. Ideal candidate: - GCP (Google Cloud) SME - Must understand security controls and the 5 pillars of cloud - Automation mindset: uses HashiCorp - have 6 or 7, one being Terraform (most common and mandatory), Sentinel is a second but basic knowledge is ok - Cost Optimization mindset: if they build a capacity, it's a real dollar (not like on-prem) - Java or Golang development: building in a public cloud is simple to click buttons, but the automation piece, needs to make sure they cover all the offerings - Security: can keep security of the cloud in mind to protect the brand Responsibilities: Bachelor's or masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience 5 + years of experience with Infrastructure automation tools (Terraform), with a focus on IaC and immutable infrastructure. 5 + years of experience with GCP cloud offerings Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's GKE/Anthos product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and faster diagnosis. Software development experience in one of the OO programming language: Java, Go and or Python Understanding of good cloud architecture to ensure high availability while ensuring the highest level of security and visibility. Strong background of Container & Orchestration Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift Understanding of Traffic Flow Management, to include Service Mesh concepts, with experience in Istio preferred, as well as how GTM and LTMs manage traffic flows. Experience with Logging and Monitoring tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics. FinOps (cloud) domain knowledge preferred Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions Confirmed support of production systems at scale. Willingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
