Job Title: Servicenow - CMDB, ITSM, CI, ITIL

Location: Hartford, CT

Experience Level: 8-10 years

Key Responsibilities:

Configuration Item (CI) Identification and Control:
Define and maintain robust CI identification and naming conventions.
Establish and manage processes for capturing, documenting, and controlling CIs throughout their lifecycle.

Data Population and Maintenance:
Lead efforts to populate the CMDB with accurate and complete data from various sources, including discovery tools, manual inputs, and integrations.
Implement automated processes for regular data updates, validation, and reconciliation.

Relationship Mapping:
Define and manage complex relationships between CIs to accurately represent dependencies and associations.
Ensure relationship mappings are updated to reflect changes in the IT environment.

Integration and Interoperability:
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate the CMDB with systems like incident management, change management, and asset management.
Ensure seamless interoperability between the CMDB and other ITSM processes.

Continuous Improvement:
Monitor CMDB performance and usage metrics to identify improvement areas.
Drive initiatives to enhance CMDB capabilities, usability, and data quality.

Stakeholder Communication and Training:
Act as the primary point of contact for CMDB-related inquiries and support.
Provide training and guidance to IT staff and stakeholders on CMDB processes and best practices.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide accurate configuration data.

Reporting and Metrics:
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights into CMDB health and status.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to CMDB accuracy and effectiveness.

Data Integrity and Quality:
Ensure regular audits and reconciliation of the CMDB to maintain data integrity.
Collaborate with IT teams to identify and resolve data discrepancies.

CMDB Management:
Oversee daily CMDB operations and maintenance.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for CMDB management and data governance.

Required Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) principles and best practices.
Experience with CMDB tools (ServiceNow preferred).
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
