USA (Hybrid) Contract Duration: 6 to 12 Months Experience Level: Mid to Senior-Level Client: GAF About the Role: We are seeking highly skilled ABAP Developers to join our team for a critical project involving the implementation of a new SAP-based Data Lake. The current data lake, hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and integrated with PeopleSoft, is being replaced by an SAP Data Lake. Your role will be pivotal in managing approximately 20-25 complex integrations between existing systems and the new SAP Data Lake. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and optimize ABAP programs to facilitate the migration and integration of data from the existing GCP and PeopleSoft systems to the new SAP Data Lake. Design and develop custom ABAP solutions for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Collaborate closely with data architects, SAP consultants, and business stakeholders to understand integration requirements. Ensure seamless integration with SAP modules and other external systems. Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging of ABAP code to ensure optimal system performance. Document technical specifications, design documents, and test plans. Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers. Stay updated on the latest SAP and ABAP trends and technologies to ensure the best solutions are implemented. Required Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in ABAP development, with a strong focus on integration projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ABAP programming language, including Object-Oriented ABAP. Extensive experience with SAP Data Services, SAP BW, or SAP HANA. Strong understanding of SAP Data Lake architecture and integration strategies. Experience with data migration projects, especially from non-SAP systems to SAP. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and PeopleSoft is a plus. Integration Skills: Experience with integrating SAP systems with various external systems and applications. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues. Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in SAP ABAP or related SAP technologies. Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
