| From: Shivam Singh, Vyzeinc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description - Title: IMS / DB2 Database Administrator Visa: USC/GC Duration: 12 Month CTH MOI: Skype Client : AAFES Applies expert knowledge of the client mainframe computing platform management process to support the operating system software, hardware and system support software for the z/OS portfolio. The tasks associated with this support may installing, upgrading, configuring, monitoring, tuning and maintaining z/OS IMS systems. Schedules new installs and upgrades for IMS to provide the best support for the IMS community. Ensures internal controls are adhered to in relation to compliance requirements, audit procedures, and security and by following industry best practices and client policies. Monitors and tunes the IMS software and supporting software to achieve optimum performance. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and documentation, provides project leadership as needed of major z/OS projects, and provides guidance and advice to developers and users concerning the z/OS IMS capabilities, software, and procedures. Ensures data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate IMS software solutions. Defines disaster recovery requirements and plans and delivers a disaster recovery solution as needed for IMS. Coordinates with business units, the project management office (PMO), outside entities and IT staff to confirm compliance and risk mitigation has been met. Serves as third level support by identifying, evaluating, and troubleshooting non-routine events and incidents with z/OS and specifically the IMS computing platform. Responds to telephone calls and email requests for z/OS management processes. Safeguards physical access to the client restricted data, processes and services. This position requires nights and weekends on call for ongoing support.
