| Infrastructure Engineer Location : Cambridge, MA(Remote Position) Duration: Contract About the job We seek a skilled Systems Engineer with a robust background in virtualization, Active Directory, Windows Server, and PowerShell scripting. The ideal candidate will have experience with VMware and other hypervisors, expertise in Active Directory administration, and proficiency in Windows Server management. This role involves a mix of hands-on system administration, troubleshooting, and automation tasks, making it crucial for maintaining the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: 1. Virtualization Management (30% of role): Manage and maintain VMware virtualization platforms. Prepare for migration to a new virtualization platform by March 2025; experience with other hypervisors is advantageous. Ensure the smooth operation and optimization of virtual environments. 2. Active Directory Administration (25-30% of role): Serve as a point of escalation for Active Directory (AD) administration and domain functionality issues. Manage domain controllers, domain replication, group policies, AD groups, AD users, and certificates. Maintain and troubleshoot Kerberos authentication and related issues. 3. Windows Server Operating System Management (15-20% of role): Administer Windows Server operating systems, including patching, maintenance, and user access. Troubleshoot and resolve performance and operational issues to ensure system reliability. 4. PowerShell Scripting and Automation (20% of role): Develop, execute, and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, maintenance, and reporting across AD and virtualization environments. Handle automation tasks, generate reports, and respond to regular reporting and alerts. Qualifications: Proven experience with VMware and familiarity with other virtualization platforms. Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, including domain controllers, replication, group policies, and certificate management. Strong understanding of Windows Server administration, including performance tuning and issue resolution. Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
