Title: Java Solution Architect Location: Austin, TX / San Jose, CA (Hybrid) Terms: Contract Job Description: Key Responsibilities: Architect and Design Solutions: Develop and maintain architectural blueprints for Java-based applications. Design end-to-end solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and best practices. Create technical specifications and high-level design documents. Hands-on Development: Actively participate in coding, code reviews, and debugging to ensure high-quality, maintainable code. Lead the development of critical components, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and security requirements. Optimize existing codebase for better performance and scalability. Leadership and Collaboration: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams. Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and other architects, to ensure successful delivery of projects. Ensure that solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, security, and scalability. Technology and Tools: Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve efficiency and innovation. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in Java and related fields. Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and guidelines. Project Management: Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects. Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: 8+ years of experience in software development with at least 5 years in Java development. 3+ years of experience in a solution architect role, designing and implementing complex Java-based applications. Proven experience in microservices architecture, cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and API management. Technical Skills: Expertise in Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), and Hibernate/JPA. Proficient in RESTful services, SOAP, and web services integration. Strong experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and ORM technologies. Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes. Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, Angular, React) is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional Java SE) or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect). Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Confluence. Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Java applications.
