| From: priyanka, Stellent IT [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] ROLE: NETWORK ENGINEER Location: Mechanicsburg, PA (local candidates only/Onsite) Contract Length: 10 months, with possible extension Rate is $35/hr Position Overview :The Network Engineer will handle network connection change requests by disabling LAN switch and router port security, validating and updating information, and communicating changes. Monitor network availability, troubleshoot device outages, process temporary configurations, manage WAN circuit failures, and provide technical support for network issues. Maintain accurate equipment inventory, assist with Cisco equipment refreshes and wireless deployments, process equipment surplus, and handle special projects as assigned . Dutie s:Disable LAN switch and router port security as requested by other IT staf f.Review change requests, validate information provided on requests, and lead efforts to resolve erroneous informatio n.Update LAN switch and router port security and/or DHCP configuration setting s.Communicate LAN switch interface vlan changes to network design lea d.Disseminate communications for completed change request s.Monitor network availability systems and act on device outage alarms/notificatio n.Lead troubleshooting efforts to verify LAN switch, router, and firewall functionalit y.Process temporary LAN switch and router configuration changes as needed totroubleshoot device failure s.Configure replacement LAN switches, routers, and firewalls and lead efforts to replace failed equipment which may include personally delivering and replacing equipment or shipping equipment and coordinating replacement activities with field site personne l.Process, monitor, and escalate telecommunication provider trouble tickets for WAN circuit failure s.Disseminate service outage/restoration notifications to Agency personne l.Review LAN switch and router interface configuration settings and statistics to isolate cause of network connection issue s.Process temporary LAN switch changes as needed to troubleshoot network connection issue s.Review and update LAN switch and router configuration settings and as needed to correct discrepancies between design documents and actual equipment configuratio n.Provide recommendation to other IT personnel on courses of action to resolve network connection issue s.Monitor Agencys trouble ticket system and act on tickets referred to the Network Sectio n.Maintain accurate and timely equipment inventory information to record equipment location and variable configuration informatio n.Assist with Cisco EOL equipment refresh (requires limited travel to DOC/PBPP facilitie s)Assist with Cisco wireless deployment s.Required Skill s:5 years of Network Engineering WAN.
