Job Description - DB2 DBA Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Visas: Only GC/USC MOI: Skype Must have LinkedIn Id DB2 Administrators on the mainframe, including skills around DB2 Connect, helping reduce read-only activity, reporting and monitoring, and some support for the legacy mainframe Cobol. ii. Performance and Capacity resources 1. Looking at performance and availability reports (current and next day only), synthesize and figure out whats good and bad (cost, performance, etc) 2. More modern reporting services. 3. Looking into putting SREs in place to look at bigger problems (some days running at 1/3 thread max, then spikes, figure out root cause). Latch escalations on RO tables causing overheads 4. DB2 stability buffer pools, zparms, zIIP utilization trends 5. z/OS stability similar to DB2 6. day to day help (performance team) Will analyze SMF and SAS reports and identify opportunities for enhancing performance. Periodically required for consultation and assistance.
