The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Linux-based infrastructure solutions on the IBM Z platform. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, and IBM Z technologies. Key Responsibilities: Linux System Administration: Manage, maintain, and optimize Linux environments on the IBM Z platform, ensuring system stability, security, and performance. Infrastructure Design and Development: Develop and deploy Linux-based cloud infrastructure solutions tailored to meet business needs, leveraging the power and flexibility of the IBM Z platform. Automation and Scripting: Create and maintain scripts to automate system administration tasks, deployments, and configurations using tools such as Bash, Python, and Ansible. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of Linux systems on IBM Z, identifying and resolving issues related to CPU, memory, disk, and network resources. Security Management: Implement security best practices to protect Linux systems from threats and vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux-based systems with other components of the IBM Z environment. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Linux operating systems, cloud infrastructure, and networking on IBM Z. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in Linux system administration, particularly within a cloud infrastructure context. Strong knowledge of the IBM Z platform and its integration with Linux operating systems. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and configuration management. Familiarity with virtualization, containers, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud security practices and compliance. Knowledge of IBM Z mainframe technologies and tools. Certification in Linux system administration or cloud infrastructure.
