The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on the IBM Z platform. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud storage and networking technologies and their integration within the IBM Z environment. Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Design and Development: Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on the IBM Z platform, focusing on storage and networking components. Cloud Storage Management: Design, implement, and optimize cloud storage solutions, ensuring data availability, durability, and performance. Manage storage provisioning, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. Networking Solutions: Develop and maintain networking configurations for IBM Cloud Z, including virtual networking, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network security protocols. Automation and Scripting: Create and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline cloud infrastructure management tasks, ensuring efficient and error-free operations. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize cloud storage and networking performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and potential issues. Security Compliance: Ensure that all infrastructure components adhere to security best practices and comply with relevant regulations and standards. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers, security experts, and operations teams, to ensure seamless integration of cloud infrastructure with other components of the IT environment. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in cloud infrastructure development, with a focus on IBM Z systems. Strong understanding of cloud storage technologies (e.g., block storage, object storage) and networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, routing). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl. Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus. Familiarity with IBM Cloud Z tools and technologies is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud security best practices. Knowledge of IBM Z mainframe technologies. Certification in cloud infrastructure or networking.
