The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure solutions within the IBM Z environment. This role requires deep expertise in networking principles, cloud infrastructure, and IBM Z technologies. Key Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure Design: Develop and maintain network architecture on the IBM Z platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Configuration and Management: Configure and manage network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, to support cloud-based services on IBM Z. Network Security: Implement and manage security measures, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, to protect the IBM Z network infrastructure. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshooting issues related to latency, bandwidth, and connectivity. Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline network configuration, management, and monitoring tasks. Integration and Collaboration: Work closely with other infrastructure, security, and development teams to ensure seamless integration of networking solutions with other components of the IBM Z platform. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in network engineering, particularly within a cloud infrastructure environment. Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and switching. Experience with IBM Z platform and networking technologies. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl. Familiarity with network security practices and tools. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud networking and hybrid cloud solutions. Knowledge of IBM Z mainframe technologies and tools.
