The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive logging and monitoring solutions within the IBM Z environment. This role requires expertise in monitoring tools, logging frameworks, and IBM Z technologies to ensure system performance, reliability, and security. Key Responsibilities: Logging Implementation: Design and implement logging solutions to capture and manage log data from various components of the IBM Z infrastructure. Ensure that logs are properly collected, stored, and analyzed. Monitoring Solutions: Develop and maintain monitoring systems to track the performance, availability, and health of IBM Z infrastructure components. Implement tools and practices to ensure effective monitoring. Alerting and Incident Response: Configure alerts and notifications based on monitoring data to quickly identify and respond to potential issues or performance degradations. Performance Analysis: Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, detect anomalies, and provide insights into system performance. Recommend and implement improvements based on analysis. Automation: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline logging and monitoring processes, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. Collaboration: Work with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to integrate logging and monitoring solutions with other components of the IBM Z environment. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of logging and monitoring configurations, procedures, and best practices. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible. Security and Compliance: Ensure that logging and monitoring practices comply with relevant security and regulatory standards. Implement measures to protect log data and monitoring systems. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in logging and monitoring within a cloud infrastructure environment, particularly with IBM Z systems. Strong understanding of logging frameworks, monitoring tools, and performance metrics. Experience with IBM Z technologies and integration of logging and monitoring solutions. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl. Familiarity with automation tools and configuration management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud-based logging and monitoring solutions. Knowledge of IBM Z mainframe technologies and tools.
