| NEED ONLY LOCALS TO NY Position: Sr Business Analyst/ Data Analyst Location: NYC, NY- Day 1 Onsite (Hybrid 3 days) Duration: Contract Job Overview: We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong foundational skills in business analysis, including exceptional communication, probing, and active listening skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in data requirement gathering, creating data mapping documents, and documenting data quality rules. This role will focus more on process improvement, documentation, and stakeholder communication, heavy data analysis and SQL querying. Recent banking financial domain is must, and cap mkt or investment banking is preferred. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement. Gather and document business requirements effectively, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders. Create detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for business. Develop and maintain data mapping documents and data quality rules in conjunction with data teams. Understand and document the flow of data through different systems, providing clear insights and recommendations. Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT systems and processes. Facilitate meetings and workshops to extract pertinent information and drive decision-making. Conduct basic data analysis and interpret data profiling reports to inform business decisions. Ensure that the business impacts of data-related projects are clearly defined and communicated. Support the business in understanding the key data dependencies and relationships. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on business process improvement and documentation. Good understanding of business analysis techniques and knowledge of business process modeling. Ability to grasp complex business concepts and translate them into clear and actionable requirements. Experience with data requirements gathering and documentation. Basic understanding of SQL and data analysis concepts. Strong communication, probing, and active listening skills. Experience with creating and maintaining documentation for data-related projects.
