District of Columbia 20024 Duration: Contract Job Description We are looking for a Systems Administrator to administer, develop, run tests on, implement, and maintain operating systems and related software. What Youll Do Administers, develops, runs tests on, implements, and maintains operating system and related software Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries Responsibilities differ from those of an Operating Systems Programmer in that the Systems Administrator is not responsible for altering operating system's software codes Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts Schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments Schedules tasks using software support tools and scripts Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices Provides technical support for system users What You'll Need Required: Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation, analysis, and presentations Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello, or Asana for project planning and tracking Experience with Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io for creating process flows, data flow diagrams, and system architectures Experience with IBM Rational DOORS, Jama Connect, or HP ALM for managing and tracking requirements Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or IBM Cognos for data visualization and analysis Prototyping Tools: Including Axure RP, Balsamiq, or Sketch for creating wireframes and prototypes Basic knowledge of SQL for querying databases, and familiarity with database management tools like SQL Server Management Studio, MySQL Workbench, or Oracle SQL Developer Experience with Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, or Lucidchart for creating Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams Experience with IBM Watson Requirements Quality Assistant, ReqView, or Modern Requirements4DevOps for advanced requirement analysis and management Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor Thanks & Regards Mike Henry Senior IT Recruiter Email: [email protected] Keywords: business intelligence information technology hewlett packard Systems Administrator - Washington D.C -Onsite [email protected] |
