Ideally the candidate will sit in NJ or the Greater Philadelphia area, because they may need to travel into Whitehouse Station, Jersey City, or Philadelphia, PA periodically Please target these areas first within 1-2 hour drive. Location: Whitehouse Station New Jersey Area or Philadelphia area (REMOTE- NOTE LOCATION PREFERENCES AND OCASIONAL TRAVEL to NJ or PA) Contract Type: 6-months contract with the right to hire A MUST Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Cisco SD-WAN technologies within the organization, providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and cross-functional teams. Must have Cisco Viptela SME Important Skills: Cisco Viptela SME Sr. Engineer, Architect level Engineer General networking, working on a global SD-WAN. SD-WAN certs would be nice to have CCNP or higher caliber person for sure. Expert in Cisco SD-WAN Larger deployments, configuration expert architect level person. Certifications: SD-WAN certs would be nice to have Years of Experience: 10+ overall networking experience; 5+ in SD-WAN Background requirements Required Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in networking, with at least 5 years focused on SD-WAN solutions, specifically Cisco Viptela. Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN, including design, deployment, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments. Certifications: While a CCNP or higher certification is preferred, equivalent experience and expertise are required. SD-WAN certifications (e.g., Cisco SD-WAN Specialist) are highly desirable. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of general networking concepts, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and QoS. Proficiency in working with global networks and WAN optimization. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues in a timely manner. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Leadership: Experience in leading network projects and mentoring junior engineers. Preferred Qualifications: Global Experience: Experience working with global teams and deploying SD-WAN solutions across multiple regions. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in SD-WAN and networking technologies.
