You will play a pivotal role in supporting and managing our Enterprise Kong and Kong Konnect platforms, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of API architecture, development, and integration, as well as hands-on experience with Java and related technologies. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices architecture. Support and manage Enterprise Kong and Kong Konnect platforms, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Collaborate closely with architects and development teams to define API strategies and ensure alignment with business requirements and best practices. Develop and implement RESTful APIs using Java and associated technologies. Design, configure, and maintain API proxies on Apigee (OPDK). Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to API gateway platforms. Qualifications: 10+ years of professional experience in application development. Proven hands-on experience in installing and configuring Kong API Gateway and integrating with existing APIs. Strong understanding of platform monitoring and debugging techniques. Expertise in Enterprise Kong, Kong Konnect, Kubernetes, OAuth Grant types, and authentication protocols. Proficiency in maintaining public API specifications and documentation using the KONG Developer portal. Deep knowledge of API design standards, patterns, open API specifications (Swagger, OpenAPI 2.0), REST, JSON, and XML. Demonstrated ability to implement APIs consumed by web and mobile applications. Strong understanding of OAuth/OIDC token-based authentication protocols. Experience automating Kong API gateway configurations within a DevOps pipeline. Advanced proficiency in Java programming with a proven track record of backend application development. Expertise in Java and JavaScript frameworks. Strong database connectivity skills (JPA, JDBC, Spring Data). Experience with AngularJS. Proficiency in tools for relational databases, messaging, metrics, and tracking. In-depth knowledge of CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker. Experience with build automation tools. Ability to thrive in a highly agile environment (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban). Solid understanding of SOAP, REST, and JSON technologies. Experience working in a PaaS/SaaS environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide technical recommendations. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Experience with cloud services (Azure, Vertex, AWS) is a plus.
