(Note: If you are not interested please share it to your friends/Colleagues, Thanks in advance) Position: Performance Engineer Locations: - Sunnyvale, CA; San Jose, CA Long-term Contract Role Description: As a Performance Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to identify and resolve performance issues in software and systems. You will use advanced profiling tools and techniques to analyze performance hotspots and bottlenecks, optimize code, and enhance system performance. Your role involves working with various programming languages and tools, and you will contribute to both continuous profiling and optimization of applications. Key Responsibilities: Performance Analysis: Identify performance hotspots and bottlenecks in software and systems. Use advanced profiling tools such as perf, Intel VTune, and optionally AMD uProf to analyze and improve performance. Profiling and Monitoring: Implement continuous profiling using tools like Gprofiler or Prometheus + Grafana. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure optimal system performance. Optimization: Optimize CPU code for performance, focusing on parallel programming, vector-based processing (e.g., SIMD - AVX512), and distributed computing (e.g., OpenMP). Apply best practices for CPU code optimization to enhance application performance. Technical Skills: Strong Linux skills and proficiency in scripting. Experience with programming languages such as Python; knowledge of Java and C++ is desirable. Experience working with Docker containers; Kubernetes experience is a plus. Cloud and Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS instances; knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is desirable. Essential Skills: Advanced Profiling: Proficiency with performance profiling tools (e.g., perf, Intel VTune, AMD uProf). Experience with continuous profiling tools (e.g., Gprofiler, Prometheus + Grafana). Programming and Scripting: Strong Linux skills and scripting capabilities. Experience with Python; additional knowledge of Java and C++ is a plus. Containerization and Cloud: Experience with Docker; Kubernetes experience is desirable. Familiarity with AWS; GCP knowledge is a plus. Optimization Techniques: Knowledge of parallel programming, vector-based processing (SIMD - AVX512), and distributed computing (OpenMP).
