It is a hybrid position with 3 days in office. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Application Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing solutions for our grid-scale storage group. This highly visible position requires a deep understanding of storage operations and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, robust software solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to projects with national and global impacts, working closely with stakeholders to architect, design, and implement enterprise-level software that meets market protocols and operational needs. What Youll Bring Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive experience in application development and integration. Preferably, experience supporting the needs of an energy trading business. Proficiency with both Microsoft and Linux operating systems. Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and services, including Azure, AWS, and Snowflake. Strong understanding of ISO markets and trading, particularly with a focus on ERCOT and CAISO markets related to storage and battery systems. Extensive experience in data integration with websites, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS S3, Azure, Snowflake). Expertise in designing and architecting databases for performance, scalability, and flexibility. Proficiency in building complex user interfaces using JavaScript, React, or Angular. Advanced development skills in C#/.NET and Python, with a willingness to learn additional languages such as R. Significant experience working with Azure services and solutions for high-volume transactional processes. RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with a dedicated team to architect, plan, design, and deliver enterprise software solutions for the grid-scale storage group. Engage with cross-functional groups and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding. Gain knowledge of storage operations, including day-ahead, real-time, ancillary services, PnL, settlement, visualization, forecasting, modeling, and compliance as they relate to market protocols and operations. Derive baseline requirements to create valuable, robust, flexible, and high-quality solutions. Develop user interfaces, dashboards, reports, custom APIs, data integration, databases, microservices, and other prioritized areas. Adhere to development and coding standards, including version control. Provide immediate support, including outside of business hours when necessary. Explore and evaluate potential solutions and services to enhance existing systems.
