This includes designing system architectures, overseeing system migrations, and optimizing performance. Possess deep knowledge of mainframe technologies, including z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Demonstrate expertise in legacy systems, data management, and system integration, and leverage this experience to guide modernization efforts and ensure robust system operation. Role 2 : Snowflake Admin Location: Chicago, IL (Only locals) Type : Contract Description: Responsibilities : This project aims to modernize our data architecture by leveraging cloud technologies, specifically Snowflake and Databricks, to enhance our data storage, processing, and analytics capabilities. It involves migrating application data from an on-premises Oracle database to a more scalable, flexible and secure cloud-based environment, optimizing data flows and analytics to support real-time decision-making and insights. Role: Snowflake admin Key Responsibilities: Database Administration and Management Manage and administer Snowflake databases and warehouses for multiple environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and security. Implement and maintain database security by creating roles, users, and managing access controls. Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies. Plan and execute database maintenance tasks. Performance Tuning Monitor and optimize the performance of Snowflake databases and SQL queries. Implement best practices for efficient data storage and query execution. Monitoring and Reporting Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerts for Snowflake environments. Generate and analyze reports on database performance, usage, and capacity planning. User Support and Training Provide support to application developers and end-users for Snowflake-related issues. Conduct training sessions for teams on Snowflake best practices and usage. Documentation Maintain comprehensive documentation of Snowflake configurations, processes, and procedures.
