The role involves evaluating, recommending, and selecting hardware and software solutions, monitoring system performance, and performing root cause analysis on production issues. The successful candidate will play a key role in interfacing with various departments, managing new hardware processes, and ensuring optimal program execution. Key Responsibilities: Evaluation and Selection: Participate in evaluating, recommending, and selecting hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs. Research and Analysis: Analyze data processing functions, methods, and procedures to enhance system efficiency and performance. System Monitoring: Monitor production systems to ensure they meet expected performance levels and respond to issues proactively. Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis on production issues to determine actionable items for prevention and resolution. Engineering Tasks: Execute expert-level engineering tasks related to the analysis, design, and development of software on the Titanium platform running HPUX UNIX. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interface with various departments regarding new deployments and system integrations. Process Management: Manage, administer, and maintain all processes and procedures related to new hardware implementations. Program Execution: Monitor and ensure expected performance of program execution across systems. Essential Skills: Programming Languages: Proficiency in C++, C, Pro*C, SQL, and Oracle. Scripting and Tools: Strong skills in Unix Shell Scripting and text processing tools. System Experience: Experience working with the Titanium platform on HPUX UNIX operating systems. Analytical Skills: Ability to research, analyze, and improve data processing functions and methods. Performance Monitoring: Experience in monitoring and ensuring system performance. Problem-Solving: Expertise in performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions for production issues. Desirable Skills: Additional Languages: Experience with additional programming languages or tools related to the role.
