Role: Transportation Management Lead/Principal Location: 50/50 -remote / travel to MN Duration: 2 Years Visa: USC/GC/GC-EAD Rate: $75/hr on C2C Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Management Lead/Principal to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee and optimize our transportation operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in transportation management, strategic planning, and leadership. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement transportation strategies that align with the companys overall supply chain objectives. Analyze current operations, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives to enhance performance. Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day transportation activities, including carrier selection, route optimization, and shipment tracking. Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of transportation professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Set goals, provide feedback, and support professional development. Cost Management: Monitor and control transportation costs. Negotiate contracts with carriers and service providers to achieve cost savings while maintaining service quality. Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation operations. Analyze data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, warehousing, and customer service teams, to ensure seamless integration of transportation functions. Technology Integration: Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance visibility. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve transportation-related issues and disruptions promptly. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of operations. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CTP, CLTD) preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in transportation management or logistics, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing complex transportation networks and teams. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in transportation management systems and other relevant software. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, industry trends, and best practices. Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker with a proactive approach.
