The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of routing and switching technologies or security infrastructure, with hands-on experience in managing firewalls, network devices, and responding to security alerts. This role demands a proactive individual who can work independently and take ownership of the systems they manage. Key Responsibilities: Network Configuration and Management: Configure and manage enterprise-level routing and switching technologies. Perform MACD (Move, Add, Change, Delete) work, including patching and configuring switchports. Maintain an accurate inventory of network and telecom devices. Security Infrastructure: Configure and manage firewalls, with a preference for Palo Alto experience. Monitor network and telecom infrastructure, responding to and investigating security alerts. Apply corrective actions and necessary upgrades according to best practices. Vendor and Incident Management: Collaborate with vendors to resolve network and telecom-related issues. Ensure minimal disruption to services during incidents and upgrades. System Ownership: Independently manage and maintain the network and security systems with a strong sense of responsibility. Document network configurations and security protocols to maintain operational efficiency. Desired Experience and Skills: Networking: Solid understanding of routing and switching technologies. Experience working with load balancers and proxy servers. Familiarity with Cisco Wireless infrastructure. Networking in Cloud environments such as Azure. Security: Experience with firewalls, with Palo Alto being a plus. Experience with EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), MDR (Managed Detection and Response), and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems. Understanding of vulnerability management and the ability to perform packet sniffing and analysis. Experience in telephony support is a big plus. Certifications: CCNA or any security certification is highly desirable. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in network and/or security engineering roles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
