| Job Description: SQL Server Developer/Analyst Client: State of AL Dept. of Medicaid Location: 501 Dexter Ave, Montgomery, AL 36104 (Onsite, 5 days a week) Duration: 18 months Pay Rate: Up to $40/hr. (C2C) Background Checks: Yes Drug Screen: Yes Position Description The role involves developing applications and integrations using the Microsoft SQL Server platform and providing technical/production support. Key responsibilities include: Analytics Support: Provide support to Health Systems and the Analytics Division. Report & ETL Development: Design and develop reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and ETL packages using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Team Collaboration: Actively participate in meetings with project managers, team leads, analysts, and other agency staff as needed. Mentoring: Assist in mentoring and training business analysts. SQL Coding: Write SQL code accurately, understanding and working with various databases. SQL Patches: Write and deploy SQL patches. Schema Design: Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning, and application schema upgrades. Database Development: Develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views; create scripts to build new database objects. Skills Required Technical: Intermediate professional level role with expertise in SSIS 2016 and higher, SSRS, SQL Server Management Studio, and MS Office. Communication: Good communication skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes as a team member and other times as a project leader. Skills Preferred Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Experience Required Industry Experience: Typically 10+ years of experience in high-tech industry and/or IT work. Education Required Degree: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Additional Information Submittal Process: Submittals must come from the submitting vendor. Only one level of sub-vendor candidates is allowed. Contract Terms: The position is a long-term contract currently budgeted for one year with a likelihood of extension. There is a possibility of conversion to a permanent role.
