The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies, specifically COBOL and Assembler programming, and experience with IBM tools. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications, ensuring high performance and reliability. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mainframe development, with a strong focus on COBOL and Assembler. Technical Skills: Proficient in COBOL, Assembler, JCL, and other mainframe languages. Experience with IBM mainframe tools such as IBM Debug Tool, File Manager, and Rational Developer for System z (RDz). Knowledge of CICS, DB2, and VSAM. Familiarity with source code management tools like Endevor or Changeman. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a mainframe environment. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Agile methodologies. Familiarity with modern mainframe technologies and approaches, including DevOps for mainframes. Certification in IBM Mainframe technologies.
