Full JD is attached below:- FinOps Analyst / Engineer Location:- Cleveland, OH (Hybrid) Experience:- 8+ Years Must Have:- 5+ years of FinOps experience Detailed JD and Required Skills:- The Senior FinOps Analyst will provide key support and liaison services, helping the technology domains strike the best mix of cost, quality, and global technology, while enabling us to produce valuable data for predictive analysis of our future cloud and local I.T. spending. You will be equipped with skills in forecasting, show back, charge back, and variance analysis. You will help internal customers improve their cloud practices such as tagging, metadata, and policy compliance, executing on knowledge in cloud optimization and best practices toward efficient cloud consumption. Your interpersonal skills will help you guide your internal customers through demand management and oversight controls. You will contribute to the development and iterative improvement of our data reporting and visualization output. You may be part of savings driven events where teams compete to apply best practices and avoid costs in the cloud. Ultimately you will be instrumental in contributing to the growth and development of our new FinOps practice. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning Work with infrastructure, security, architecture, and delivery teams to communicate functional, technical and operational knowledge in support of business and technology transformational activities. Help to gather and communicate business requirements for complex systems development from both functional and non-functional perspectives (i.e. concept of operations, performance, test, cost, schedule, training, support and disposal). Produce relevant documentation for cloud deliverables, such as objectives and requirements, risk assessments, plans, status reports, open issue logs, change logs, and action items lists. Support delivery teams in implementing standards and guidelines applicable to cloud strategy. Escalate risks to sponsors on a timely basis for decision resolution and disposition. Contribute to development of best practices for tech consumers to understanding spend, optimization, and cost recovery efforts. Acquisition and Deployment Maintain a dashboard of cloud activities. Provide functional oversight for multiple project initiatives. Coordinate with project managers on cloud initiatives to identify, control, and synchronize interdependencies between projects. Create, prioritize, and maintain list of cloud governance items. Operational Management Coordinate evaluation and onboarding of cloud requests as defined by the prioritization and governance process. Facilitate the documentation of architectural designs and standards for implemented solutions. Document, communicate, and enforce system standards and solutions review processes. Coordinate change management activities in accordance with cloud operating model and transition plan. Contribute to education delivery, equipping stakeholders with understanding for budget and cost management practices. Incidental Functions Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work. Attend business management and IT staff meetings where appropriate. Attend meetings on behalf of the team. Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested. Train and share knowledge with delivery teams in cross functional capacities. Assist with hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy. Participate in vendor meetings where appropriate. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience 5+ years of IT experience. 5+ years of FinOps experience cost management/ i.t. budgeting and spending/ cost optimization best practices Working understanding of at least one of the adopted public cloud provider platforms and services (e.g., Azure/ AWS/ OCI/ GCP preferred) Experience in data analysis, forecasting, and reporting -- preference toward financial disciplines with a high level of accuracy. Analytical mindset and learning agility towards identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies, as well as techniques to move our program forward. Ability to participate in the implementation and adoption of FinOps, including cost models; tools; operational processes; governance & controls, and cost data analysis for cloud cost management. Preferred Qualifications and Skills FinOps fundamentals education or certification Understanding of public cloud provider billing methods and concepts Working knowledge of third-party asset inventory or cloud-native cloud cost reporting products and tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Cloudability, Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Mgmt+Billing) Advanced technical skills using Excel, SQL, MS Access, or other data analysis tools Knowledge of accounting principles and financial management activities (e.g., budgeting and forecasting, reconciliation, amortization, reallocation, shared service cost distribution) Understanding of Agile principles and Sprint Planning, including scum and kanban planning/ backlog tools (e.g., JIRA) Experience with PowerShell, Terraform, Python or similar automation/scripting languages Report writer skills developing custom reporting, dashboards, and visual output from data-driven systems Sustainability practitioner seeking to advocate for cloud waste detection by examining usage patterns to adapt carbon footprint best practices.
